Stephen Barrett Watkins, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015, due to an accidental drowning at the age of 35. Barrett was born February 21, 1979 in Lubbock, Texas.

He graduated from Levelland High School in 1997 and Texas Tech University in 2003. He served as an intern in the "Night Watch" at the Kansas City House of Prayer in 2006 and attended Christ for the Nations Institute later that year.

More recently Barrett was employed as a security guard in Dallas, Texas. This choice of career evolved from a nine-year training in mixed martial arts. Barrett moved to Corpus Christi, Texas December, 2014.

In all the ups and downs of his life, Barrett was passionately in love with Jesus Christ and had a heart to help others. He read the Book of Proverbs daily saying that it is a guide to living life.

Barrett is survived by his parents, Danny and Lynette Watkins, and his brother Blake Watkins.

Services will be held Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Angus Church of the Nazarene, at Angus, New Mexico with interment at the Angus Cemetery.
