Howard John Murray
Passed away on February 5, 2015 after a brief illness. He was 81 years of age. Howard was born on April 9, 1933 in Kenmare, ND. He proudly served in the Navy aboard the USS Hornet from 1952 – 1956. He retired in 1995 after a 39-year career at Boeing, serving as a Manager of Manufacturing Computing Systems. Howard served 17 years as a coach and President of North Central Little League. He volunteered as an AARP tax-aide for 35 years and was an active member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Howard supported local charities, enjoyed golfing, bowling, walking, writing and volunteering. He was loved for his kind heart and generous spirit.
Survivors include his daughter, Jill Murray; and his son, Kevin Murray brothers, William, Robert and Jerry; sisters, Carolyn Harris, Diane Edwards and Gail Plexico; and their families. Preceded in death in 2002, by Patricia, his loving wife of 44 years; also preceded in death by his sisters, Lorraine “Bobbie” Harris and Beverly “Betty” Fitzgerald-Torfin.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon, February 14th at St. Benedict Catholic Church 1805 N 49th St., Seattle 98103. Memorial contributions may be made to Seattle Children’s Hospital Foundation, PO Box 5371 Seattle, WA 98145.
