Everett was born in Keeseville, New York, June 23, 1932; however, it was so near to midnight that the physician arrived after midnight. Because of this, his family and friends always celebrated his birthday on the 24th. He was the son of Shirley W. and Agnes (Martin) Kelley. Everett graduated from Keeseville High School in 1950.
He served with the U.S. Army from September 5, 1951, until his honorable discharge, September 4, 1953. Everett served a tour of duty in Korea, during the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated the E. J. Kelley Hardware Store in Keeseville for many years.
Everett loved to hunt. His favorite memories were hunting expeditions with his two sons and brother-in-law buddy, Dick Barber. He was a member of the Au Sable Forks American Legion Post 504.
Survivors included his son, Michael B. Kelley and companion, Kathy Bowen of Au Sable Forks; daughter, Brenda (Kelley) Barton Clark and her husband, Barry Clark of Au Sable Forks; former wife, Carolyn (Breen) Kelley of Au Sable Forks; one sister, Sherry (Kelley) Barber and beloved brother-in-law, Richard Barber, of Plattsburgh; one granddaughter, Jari-Anne (Barton) Albright; four grandsons, Adam Barton, Travis Barton, Cory Barton and William Barton; one great-granddaughter, Camaron Albright; one great-grandson, Noah Barton; and one niece and several nephews.
