Literary figure. Louis Bouchie was the real life model for the character Lewis Brewster in the book "These Happy Golden Years" by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Laura boarded at his home while teaching at the Bouchie school and later wrote about her experiences there both in her fictional book and her autobiography "Pioneer Girl".
