GALVESTON — Andrea Hufstedler Walker, 45, of Monteverde, Costa Rica died peacefully Thursday, July 1, 2010, at her mother’s home in Galveston, Texas, surrounded by her family and friends. Private services were held Thursday, July 8, 2010.

Andy was born April 16, 1965, in St. Louis, Missouri. During her life she lived in Georgia, Texas, Norway, Virginia, New Mexico, and Costa Rica. She was a pilot, a volunteer, and above all dedicated her life to her family, which included her four children, large extended family, and many close friends. The light of her spirit touched everyone who knew her. Living in Monteverde, Costa Rica since 2003, Andy was an active member of the Quaker community.

Andy was preceded in death by her daughter, Emma Hope.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years, James Joseph Walker, Jr.; daughters, Hannah, Riley, and Elena; son, Nikolas all of Monteverde; her mother, Beverly Frannea and husband John of Galveston; her father, Geary Hufstedler and wife Jane of Hot Springs, Arkansas, sisters, Elizabeth Hufstedler Hostler and husband John of Martinsburg, West Virginia; Genevieve Elizabeth Litchfield and husband Dave of Kingwood, Texas, and Darla Ralston of Marina Del Rey, California; and brothers, David Ralston and partner Paul Glenn of Chicago, Illinois, and Martin Frannea of Austin, Texas; numerous other relatives and friends.
