LAWRENCE (LONNIE) EDWARD HOLLAND Lawrence (Lonnie) Edward Holland Born at Curran Hospital in Oroville, July 12th 1948. Went home to be with his Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ on January 19, 2015. Lonnie's family lived in Sterling City at that time of his birth and moved to Oroville in 1950. He started grammar school at Sierra Avenue in Thermalito all of his 8 years with the exception of a half year in Bishop, CA in 1956/57 . Lonnie attended all 4 years of high school at Oroville High School where he won the prestigious Golden Glove for boxing. Lonnie was a member of the Graduating Class of 66. While in high school, Lon had a small Yamaha motorcycle he loved riding. He also liked sneaking his brother's Ducatti motorcycle out for a ride now and then. He also got a Honda 500 CRX back in the 80's he enjoyed riding. In his Junior year at Oroville High school he met the love of his life and mother of his children, Judy Hunter. They were married in May of 1967 . Lon's first job was with Cal State Forestry in Sterling City. While attending Bethany Bible College, Lon had various odd jobs. He worked for his brother in the service station business and then in oil and TBA Warehouses. But his greatest achievement and longest tenured job was with Sacramento Regional Transit, driving a bus and later as an operator for lite rail. Lon retired after 30 years of distinguished service and gained the respect of his family for such a commitment and achievement. Lon was proceeded in death by his parents Robert and Wanda Holland and ls survived by his loving children, Cori (Steve) Amy (David) Joe (Rebecca) and 8 grandchildren, Nick, Jake, Luke, Joe, Rachel, Sam, Matthe, Ryan and 1 great- grandson, Conner. He also leaves behind all of his older siblings, Robert, Bonnie/(Ed) Sally/(Herb) and Chuck/(Sandy) and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, including his best friend of 45 years, Glen.
