The Stalker and Harrison families mourn the passing of Marian Alverson Harrison, age 91, on Monday, February 2, 2015, at Community Hospice, Fernandina Beach.
Marian was born on May 29, 1923 in New Prospect, S.C. to Joe and Cora Alverson. She was one of ten children and is survived by sisters Ethel Robbins of Georgetown, S.C., and Betty Alverson of Marietta, S.C.
She was married in October 1942 to William Frank Harrison, Jr., of Roebuck, S.C. They spent most of their married life and raised their two children in Greenville, S.C.
Marian was preceded in death by her husband Frank (1984) and her son Paul Edward (Ed) Harrison (2002). She is survived by her daughter Elaine Stalker (Chuck) of Fernandina Beach and her daughter-in-law Alice Harrison of Charlotte, N.C. She was their beloved "Mama Frank" to 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
A graveside service and burial will be in Greenville, S.C. at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Her sister, Rev. Betty Alverson, will conduct the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice, Fernandina Beach, FL.
