She was from Manor, GA and attended Zenith Baptist Church. She was also a former employee for the State of Georgia where she was passionate about helping take care of others.
Mrs. Hancock was a daughter of Alice Young and the late James Leon (J.L.) Young of Manor.
She is survived by her husband, James "Rusty" Hancock of Manor; three daughters, Debbie Zapata (husband Gil) of Lawton, OK, Becky Purvis (husband Jason) of Douglas, and Sarah Hancock of Douglas; a son, Jacob Hancock (wife Carrie) of Fleming Island, FL; six grandchildren, Gabriela, Branden, and Victoria Zapata, Gaven and Addyson Purvis, and Levi Hancock; her mother, Alice Young of Manor; three sisters, Barbara Darsey of Manor, Mary Ann Hampton of Waycross, and Sandra Morgan of Manor; two brothers, Jimmy Young of Waycross and Robert Young of Waycross; and numerous family members and loved ones.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday (February 7, 2015) at Zenith Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Zenith Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Friday evening at the church from 5 until 7 o'clock.
