WISE, Herbert A. Jr., 97, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2015.
He was born on December 17, 1917, in Greenwood, Indiana, the son of the late Herbert Sr. and Ruth Wise.
Herbert is survived by his brother, John Wise and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by siblings, Margaret Skomp, William Wise and Allen Wise.
Herbert graduated from Purdue University with his bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and retired after 43 years of service from Superior Engine Company. He loved gardening, reading and trap shooting which he used to do competitively. He was also a longtime member of Covenant Presbyterian Church.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 11a.m. at JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS LIFE CELEBRATION CENTER, with viewing from 10a.m. until time of service. Rev. Raymond Stewart officiating. Burial will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana.
