Russell Leroy Jennings, 58, of Tonganoxie, Kansas, passed away on February 4, 2015 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 31, 1956 in Shenandoah, Iowa to Roland and Mildred Jennings. The family moved to Leavenworth, Kansas in 1959 where he attended school, graduating from Leavenworth High School in 1974. He then attended the University of Kansas. He worked for the Fort Leavenworth Golf Course, Palace Lanes and Skyway Lanes prior to becoming disabled. He was an accomplished bowler, consistently averaging over 200 with three 300 games and an 800 series. He loved watching NASCAR races, KU basketball games and the Kansas City Chiefs. Survivors include his children, Patricia and Kenneth Jennings, mother Mildred Jennings, sister Phyllis Fleming (Michael), 5 grandchildren, and close friends Sara Charity and Charlie Klotz. He was preceded in death by his daughter Elizabeth and his father. Visitation will be Friday, February 6, 2015 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at Davis Funeral Chapel, with services following at 1:30 pm. Burial will be at Mount Muncie Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association or First Baptist Church, 13th and Osage, Leavenworth, Kansas. Arrangements entrusted to Davis Funeral Chapel.
