Julia Catherine Cook, 66, of West Lafayette, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.

She was born December 3, 1948, in Lafayette, to James Russell and Louise Virginia Glick Cook.

Julia attended Rossville Schools and graduated from Clinton Prairie High School in 1966, and attended Purdue University, Rude’s School of Beauty Culture and Ivy Tech. From 1966 to 1991, she worked at Purdue University. Julia then worked at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community until 2002. She enjoyed painting, photography, reading, and gardening especially flower gardening. Julia is also a published author. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Mulberry, Wabash Valley Watercolor Society, Master Gardener, Lafayette Great Banquet, and Fabric Guide at the Lafayette Art Center; she was a former member of Edna Mills Home Ec Club.

Surviving are her sisters, Frances Olmstead of Mulberry, Evelyn Joan Donahue of Escondido, CA, and Norma Ruth Miller of Cutler; one brother, Richard Wayne Cook of Indianapolis; 11 nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Julia will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home Mulberry Chapel from 12:00 p.m. to the start of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Mike Crawford will officiate. Burial will follow in Fair Haven Cemetery in Mulberry.
