David Parker McBee, age 84 years, a resident of Bowden, WV departed this life Tuesday morning, February 3, 2015 at the home of his daughter, Karen Sue Mugford at Zanesville, OH where he had resided for the past three months.

He was born Saturday, September 20, 1930 at Elkins, WV a son of the late David Scott McBee and Katherine Amelia Knutti McBee Strawcutter.

He was formerly married to the former Shirlene Waybright, who survives at Bowden.

Also surviving are four sons, Doyle Edward McBee, Donald McBee and wife Annie, and Dennis Parker McBee and wife Melissa, all of Bowden, and James Allen McBee of OR; four daughters, Sandra Kay Miller and husband Jerry, Karen Sue Mugford and husband Ian, all of Zanesville, OH, Carolyn Faye Isner and husband Will of Clarksburg, and Michelle Dawn Bennett and husband Thomas of Bowden; one brother, Donald Earl McBee of Elkins; nineteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are one son, David Earl McBee; one daughter, Linda Lou McBee; one brother Carl Alexander McBee; five sisters, Mary Katherine McBee, Emma Frances Sutton, Phyllis K. McBee, Ruth Inez McBee; and Anita Rose Williamson; one step sister, Lois K. Strawcutter; and one grandson Curt Isner.

He attended the one room school at Middle Mountain and the schools of Elkins.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict.

He along with his brother Carl owned and operated McBee Logging and at the time of his retirement he was a coal miner with the Badger Coal Company.

He was a truck, car and gun enthusiast.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 PM, Friday.

Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home, Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 12:30 PM.

Pastor Lynn Ryder will officiate and interment will follow at the Alpena Cemetery at Alpena, WV, where the U. S. Air Force will present the American Flag.
