William "Bill" Byron Cartmill, 88, of Benton passed away on February 3, 2015. Bill was born January 15, 1927 in Barnabus, West Virginia to John and Hannah Wilson Cartmill. He was a chemical engineer and did research for the Monsanto Corporation, a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, a Deacon in the Baptist Church and attended the 1st Southern Baptist Church in Bryant. His interests included gardening and photography. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II.
His survivors include his two daughters of Robinsonville, MS; four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 53 years Gerry Cartmill, his brother James Cartmill, his two sisters: Thelma Kincheloe and Dorothy Hickinbotham.
Funeral services for Mr. Cartmill were held Friday, February 6th at CedarVale Funeral Home. Burial followedat CedarVale Cemetery.
