She later moved to Stockton and was employed in ladies' clothing sales. She then moved to Sacramento and married Roy Cheli in the late 1920s. They lived in San Francisco, where she went to work for Livingston's Department Store for more than 40 years.
Mrs. Cheli moved to Lodi in 1967.
She attended St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in Lodi. In her younger years, she enjoyed horseback riding and golfing.
Mrs. Cheli was preceded in death by her brother, Byron McBain; and three sisters, Reba Rubon, May Varner and Myrtle Canepa.
