WM. A. GARRETT, AGE 76, DIES
William A. Garrett, 76 years old, grandfather of Claude Garrett, of this city, and for fifty years a resident of Franklin, passed away at his home at that place yesterday morning at 3:00. His death was due to hardening of the arteries and followed a two years' illness. Funeral services will be held Saturday at the home, conducted by the Rev. C. O. Wirey, pastor of the Franklin Community church. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.
Mr. Garrett was born in Madison county, Ky and was one of a family of eight children born to Robert and Angeline Garrett. He located in Franklin many years ago and for fifty years had operated a blacksmith shop at that place. His wife, Mrs. Frances Garrett; one son, Logan Garrett, and six grandchildren survive.

Garrett, a 76 year old married white male, blacksmith, died at 5 am on May 17, 1928 at 268 Terre Haute St. in Franklin. The cause of death was "Arteriosclerosis" with "Influenza" as the contributing cause. Spouse/Informant - Frances Garrett. Parents - R.H. Garrett, and Angeline Garrett, both born in Kentucky. Burial at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin Johnson County.
