Paris Brumfield, a veteran of the Confederate army, was one of Appalachia's most famous feud personalities. His exploits and death were widely reported upon by newspapers throughout the United States.

Paris Brumfield was the son of John H. and Rachel (Haskins) Brumfield.

He married Ann B. Toney in 1858 in what was then Logan County, Virginia.

Paris and Ann had the following children:
