Cross Hill – Brenda Gail Smith Owen, 66, of 281 Pineland Shores Cr., died Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood.

Born in Anderson County she was a daughter or the late Edgar Carradine and Doris Watts Smith. She was of the Baptist Faith and was a retired Deputy Sheriff with the Laurens County Sheriffs Department.

Surviving are her spouse, Don Smith of the home, three sons, James Cory Owens of Donalds, Larry Furman Benton, Jr. of Laurens, and Edgar Dennis Benton of Greenwood, a granddaughter raised in the home, Julieann Gail Benton, three sisters, Diane Balentine, Nyra Rhodes, and Tammy Lyn Smith all of Ware Shoals, and ten grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Thursday at Parker-White Funeral Home Chapel in Ware Shoals with Rev. Dr. Marcus Bishop officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 P.M. Thursday at Parker-White Funeral Home prior to the service. The family will be at their respective homes. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.
