Norman was born on October 16, 1930 to Frank and Clara (Wehling) Bohle at home in rural Sumner. He was baptized on November 9, 1930 and confirmed on April 2, 1944 both at Evangelical Reform (later known as St. Pauls UCC) in rural Sumner.
He was united in marriage to Lois Westervelt on May 17, 1959, at the United Methodist Church in Plainfield. The couple made their home on a farm near Sumner.
Norman enjoyed attending Steam Engine Shows, coffee with friends and spending time with family. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Buck Creek, where he very active and served on the council.
Norman is survived by his four children, Keith (Michelle Cleckner) Bohle of Churubusko, Indiana, Nancy (Neil) Jaschen of Tripoli, IA, Janet (Eugene) Judisch of Sumner and Judy (Kevin) Niedert of Tripoli, IA; brother, Charles Bohle of Sumner; seven grandchildren, Matthew Jaschen, Jonathan (Jennifer) Jaschen, Nicholas “Gus” Jaschen, Justin Bohle, Sarah (Neil) Brandt, Kendall Niedert and Keith Niedert; two great-grandchildren, Maybel Brandt and Harvey Brandt; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois, brother, Verlyn and infant sister, Gladys Ann.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 6, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church, Buck Creek with the Rev. Sandra Burroughs officiating.
