He was born September 11, 1934 in Muldrow, OK to Buford C. Shackelford and Bonnie (Peters) Shackelford.
He was retired from the Air National Guard having reached the rank of Senior Master Sergeant E-8 as well as retired from Midwest City Public Schools where he had been both a principal and counselor. He also spent many years as the Minister of Music at Wheatland Baptist Church and sang in the Singing Churchmen of Oklahoma.
He is survived by one son, Todd Shackelford and wife Vicki of Billings, MT, one daughter, Tonya Mullen and husband John of West Byfleet, Surrey UK, two sisters, Vera Shackelford and husband Don of Springdale, AR, Grace Peters of Muldrow, OK, and six grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, February 9th at Muldrow Cemetery in Muldrow, Oklahoma with Reverend Don George officiating.
