Mrs. Rowena Covin Moore, of Hogansville, died Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Hospice LaGrange. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 10, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Sheila Crowe will officiate and interment will be in Union Baptist Church Cemetery in the St. Marks Community of Meriwether County. A lifelong resident of Hogansville, Mrs. Moore was born April 17, 1920, daughter of the late Henry David Covin and the late Laura Sanders Covin. She was a 1937 graduate of Hogansville High School, attended LaGrange College, retired from Uniroyal, Inc. as an administrative assistant, and then worked as a bookkeepper for the City of Hogansville. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hogansville and was a former member of Green Bough Garden Club and the Homemakers Club. Survivors include her step-son, Dan Moore of Atlanta; sisters, Lucile Marciniak and Clara Smith, both of Hogansville; sister in-law, Ruth Covin, also of Hogansville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Warner Hill Woodruff, Jr. and Robert Pierce Moore; and her brother, J. E. (Fox) Covin.
