Son of Christian and Margaret (Nielsen) JENSEN.~VETERAN EDUCATOR DIES OF INJURIES SUFFERED ON SLIPPERY WALK

OGDEN -- Christian J. JENSEN, 66, veteran educator of Ogden, died Saturday at 5:30 a.m. in a local hospital of a basal skull fracture received January 22 at 9:00 a.m., when he slipped and fell on an icy sidewalk at the Weber County high school seminary, where he was an instructor.

Mr. JENSEN was born in Mount Pleasant, December 20, 1865, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Christian J. JENSEN. In his youth he attended the Brigham Young University at Provo, receiving a degree of bachelor of arts. In the summer of 1931, at the age of 65, he was accorded the degree of master of arts from that institution.

Mr. JENSEN taught school at Mount Pleasant and was later principal of the school several years. He later taught at Snow College in Ephraim, and then at Summit stake academy in Coalville. He came to Ogden and was an instructor for 18 years at the Weber Academy. He taught for three years at the LDS seminary in Garland and then returned to Ogden to teach at the LDS seminary at the Weber County high school.

Mr. JENSEN married his first wife, Miss Rosella GARNWORTH, October 23, 1889. She died on July 20, 1924. He married Rachel MIDDLETON on October 25, 1929, who survives him. Also surviving are four sons and daughters by his first wife: Mrs. Minnie J. KINGSTON, G. Fred, Viola and Ione JENSEN, Ogden; four brothers and sisters, Mrs. Maggie SEELY and Louis JENSEN, Mount Pleasant; Mrs. Henry LARTER, Mackay, Idaho; Hans JENSEN, Huntington.

Funeral Services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the Ogden Tabernacle, with Bishop Frank C. Simmons of the Second Ward in charge. The body will be taken to Mount Pleasant Monday evening, where a second Funeral Service will be held Tuesday noon in the Mount Pleasant South Ward Chapel. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant City Cemetery, under the direction of Lindquist & Sons.
