Bryson City - Milburn Joel Birchfield Sr., 86, of the Buckners Branch Community, died Sunday, March 26, 2006, at a Swain County Health Care Facility.
A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Caro and Catherine DeHart Burchfield. He has worked in several furniture plants in the area, and was a WW II veteran having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ida Polsz Birchfield; and one son, Milburn Joel Birchfield Jr., of Bryson City.
There are all gone now, but they will never be forgotten - Glen, Carl, Sam, Milburn, Horace, Telitha, Frank, Marvin, Wade, Wiley, and Carroll. What a great family!
