Clarence was the son of William Erastus Angel and Sonora Jane "Jennie" Cooper.

He married Marion Lenore Bryson, daughter of (Judge) Thaddeius Dillard Bryson and Anabel "Amy" Black.

Three known children would be born to this union:
Clarence Cooper Angel
Marilyn Bryson Angel (1928-2010)
Daniel Bryson Angel (1931-2005)

Clarence would tragically die as the result of an accidental gunshot wound; death was instantaneous.

He was 31-years of age.
