Marshall was born May 10, 1920, in Paris, the son of William L. and Francis “Fannie“ McCown Wilson. He was a graduate of Paris High School and served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He married Frances Ilene Merritt on Jan. 30, 1946, and the two built a life of 58 years together. Marshall worked as a farmer and rancher and had a love for playing dominoes with friends, which he continued until the past few months. Marshall and Ilene also spent many years building memories square dancing with good friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ilene, who passed on June 21, 2004; two sisters; and one brother.
Survivors include a daughter, Marsha Ann Moore and special family member Tommy Malone, who both provided the best of care to Marshall throughout his illness. He is also survived by granddaughter Shannon Ausmus and husband Bryan; great-grandsons Cody and Lane Ausmus; nephews Ernie Hudgens and wife Mary and Joe Hudgens; as well as a host of extended family members and good friends.
