M. Ilene (Johnson) Hollowell, 94, of Clinton, passed away Sunday morning. She was born August 10, 1920 to Andy M. Johnson and Mamie Johnson in Clinton. She was a retired nurse and spent much of her retirement playing music and singing at local nursing homes as well as volunteering in her community and church. She was an accomplished writer publishing "Anne's Angel". She also wrote several short stories and poems.
She was proceeded in death by her two brothers, Jim Johnson and Andy Johnson Jr., both of Clinton. She is survived by her husband Perry Hollowell of Clinton, her sister Martha Osella, two sons, Willie Wyres of Clinton, and Jim Slater of Texas.
She is also survived by 6 granddaughters, and by several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed.
