Patricia Ann (Earp) Fine fell asleep in the arms of the lord Jan. 31, 2015. She was born May 24, 1939, in Alma. After graduating from Van Buren High School in 1957, where she excelled in business courses, Pat entered the workforce. She was an outstanding typist, stenographer and office manager. A few years later, she made a decision that was to change her life when she took a job at a small firm, Mena Truck Line, in Fort Smith. There, she met the love of her life — her husband, Orville Fine. They were married Sept. 1. 1961. Together, they built their business, Fine Truck Line Inc., into a large carrier that served Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas and reared three children. Active in First Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Pat was a longtime member of the Pastor’s Class. After retiring from the trucking business in the late 1980s, Pat entered a new phase of life: caring for her Alzheimer’s-stricken husband. Upon Orville’s passing in 1995, she devoted herself to nurturing her expanding brood of grandchildren, working on her lawn and helping her neighbors. She inspired others with her tenacious fight against lymphoma and was a proud five-year cancer survivor.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Orville Fine of Fort Smith; her parents, Henry and Pauline Earp of Van Buren; her brothers, Henry Charles Earp of Sumner, Texas, and Hubert Leon Earp of Pocola.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m.. Wednesday at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

She is survived by children, Tonja Hirsh (Peter) of Rogers, Milton Fine (Laura) of Little Rock and Barbara Pruitt of Winter Garden, Fla.; her six grandchildren, Caitlin, Connor and Payton Hirsh of Rogers, Bennett Fine of Little Rock and Zachary and Kiley Pruitt of Winter Garden; and her devoted niece, Telea Emmert of Van Buren.

Family will visit with relatives and friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Bennett Fine, Connor Hirsh, Zachary Pruitt, Richard Bracken, Dennis Cole and Frank Sharum.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Blansett, Norman Dunn, Carl Riggins and Jay Scott.
