Joseph married a Milinda Stidham d/o James Stidham and Malinda Hamilton on 06 Feb 1873 in Wise County, VA.
Malinda's brother, Schuyler, married Joseph Franklin's sister Caldonia

" 2015: I was at my parents home a couple of weeks ago and my mother says he is buried at Joel Sturgill Cemetery - the same cemetery my great grandfather Schuyler Parsons and my grandfather Joseph Franklin Parsons are buried at.
She isn't sure exactly where the burial spot is at, but said it is not in the same spot as her father and her grandfather (Schuyler) -- they are all buried within the same row."
