Jennie, as she was most commonly known, was the daughter of William Franklin Cooper and Eliza Frances (Wiggins) Cooper.

She married William Erastus Angel (born Dec 1870 in Jackson County), the son of James Edward Angel and Mary Magdalene Monteith, on 07 Jun 1899 in Swain County, NC. Performed by: J.J. ?, Methodist Minister. S.A. Dehart, J.P. Gibson, and Mrs. N.B. Thompson, witnesses.

Four known children would be born to this union:
Bertha Elizabeth (Angel) Gribble
Clarence Cooper Angel
Helen Isabell (Angel) Sherrill
William Paul "Petey" Angel

Following their divorce, Jennie would move the family into the home of her parents. She would become the manager of her father's locally known, "Cooper House" located in Bryson City. Of interest, well known author, Horace Kephart lived in the Cooper House for some 20-years.

In 1940, at age 72, her son Paul and his family were living in the home with Jennie. He was now head of house and was the operator of a cafe.

In 1956, Paul would move his family to Asheville, but Jennie would remain in Bryson City.

She would later die at Swain County Hospital in 1963 as the result of a coronary occlusion.

Jennie was 94-years of age.
