She was born Aug. 2, 1917, in Ottawa, the daughter of George H. and Edna Formhals Smith.
She married Charles Hartman Jr. in 1938 in Ottawa; he died in 1997.
Mrs. Hartman retired as a dietary manager from McFarland Zone Center in 1983.
She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and La Salle County Genealogical Society.
Survivors: four sons; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and an aunt.
Services: 6 p.m. Tuesday, Bisch and Son Funeral Home, the Rev. Thomas G. Radtke officiating.
Cremation rites will then be accorded.
Burial: at a later date, Roselawn Memorial Park.
