Walter J. Schiltz, age 102, of Canton, died Monday January 19th after a brief illness. Born in New Berlin (North Canton) to the late Harry and Lela (Miller) Schiltz. He was a life resident of Stark County. Walter was a tool and die maker retiring from United Engineering and Foundry. He was a member of First Christian Church, Canton Lodge #60 F&AM, AASR Valley of Canton, Member and Past Monarch of Nazir Grotto, Member and past president of Men’s Garden Club of Stark County, Canton Perry Grange, Member and past Treasurer of Keenagers, and was a member of AARP of which he was a tour guide for 16 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death in 2006 by his wife of 69 years, Eleanor, and three brothers; Harry, Robert and Paul Schiltz. Survivors include two daughters; Daneen (Richard) Good of Prospect, KY and Sue (Ned) Guest of Jackson Township. Five grandchildren; Michael (Laura), Richard (Dawn) Good and Debra (Scott) Spanbauer. Lori (Jack) Morton and Bruce (Karen) Guest. Twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren also survive. A funeral service will be Monday, February 9, 2015 in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave., N.W. with Rev. Jeffrey Bullock officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A Masonic Service will be at 12:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church 6900 Market Ave., N.
