LODGE - Services for Julia Carter Brown, 89, of 5802 Carter's Ford Road, will be held at 4 p.m. today, August 27, 2000, at Carter's Ford Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery directed by Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Carter's Ford Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1, Lodge, SC 29082.

Mrs. Brown, widow of Thurmond B. Brown, died Friday, August 25, 2000, in Bamberg County Hospital. Born in Colleton Co., she was a daughter of the late Carey P Carter and Minnie Caldwell Carter and granddaughter of the late Dr. Joseph P. Carter and Julia Holman Carter of the Carter's Ford Community. She was a member of Carter's Ford Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher and former secretary and treasurer. She worked with the children's group for 44 years and was a member of the Former Nan Eidson Circle. She was a life long choir member.

Surviving are her son, Jimmy D. Brown of Lodge; sisters, Dorothy Shelton of Ehrhardt, Helen Williams of Americus, Ga.; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Don W. Brown.
