On 2 February 1968, four Canadian servicemen were killed in the line of duty at CFB Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
From the 10 Nov 2018 issue of the 'Chronicle Herald' newspaper:-
"On Friday, Feb. 2, 1968, three Tracker aircraft left Shearwater (Nova Scotia) on weekend trips designed to give young naval pilots more time at the controls. Two of those flights were uneventful but the third plane, while readying to land at CFB Downsview in Toronto, developed engine trouble and crashed, killing all on board."
The casualties of the tragic crash of the third 'Tracker' were-

Sub-Lieutenant William John BOLES,
Able Seaman Michael SCHOFIELD and
Lieutenant Murray George McRADU.

Born in Vejle, Denmark, he was the son of Borge Villy and Olga (née Jakobsen) Kaersvang of Ingersoll, Ontario; brother of Gunner, Ole, Ruth, Inger and Hanne Kaersvang.

Sub-Lieutenant Preben Ejgil Kaersvang is commemorated on Page 142 of the 'In the Service of Canada' Book of Remembrance.
And a marble plaque to honour the memory of these four young men will be placed at the Shearwater Aviation Museum, in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
