LaVerne Louise Potter, 78, of Easton Kansas, went to be with the Lord on January 30, 2015. She was born on March 9, 1936 to Alfred Herman Fredrich and Edna Marie (Timpe) Kruse. She married Austin Duane Potter on October 24, 1953.

LaVerne was a devoted farm wife all her life. She also worked at Co-op in
Atchison as a payroll clerk and a program technician at the Farm Service Agency office in Leavenworth. She was a life-long member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Easton, KS. LaVerne’s ancestors and descendents represent seven generations of members at St. John’s.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Austin; four daughters and one son, Barbara Askins (Mike Hall), Brenda (Ken) Taylor, Brian (Renee) Potter, Beverly (Bill) Matney, Belinda (Chris) McLeod; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; one brother Alfred (Ed) Kruse and one sister-in- law Betty Kruse. She was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Kruse.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, 6 – 8 p.m. at Davis Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 4 at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Easton. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions go to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Easton, KS.
