While in the Corps she learned to drive, change oil and do safety checks on military trucks. After being discharged from the Air Corps, she worked for IBM repairing machinery for several years.

B.J. excelled in math and loved playing pinochle. In the spring of 1953, she moved back to New York and obtained a job with the a local accounting firm as an assistant accountant. In 1964, she moved to be closer to her family in Broward County, Fla. She was hired on and worked for the State of Florida as an Accountant for the Division of Primary Health Care. It was here that she met her dear friend and companion, Liz Igleheart.

After 20 years of working for the State of Florida, B.J. retired and moved to Placerville, Calif. She and Liz traveled through out the United States up until Liz’s health failed.
