Services for Lauren B. Neal, 81, of New Martinsville, W.Va., were Friday at the Iams Funeral Home in New Martinsville.

Mr. Neal, who at one time was an undersheriff in Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, July 10, 1984, at the Wetzel County Hospital in New Martinsville.

The Rev. Harold Custer officiated at the services. Burial was at the Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville.

Mr. Neal was born May 13, 1903, in Oles, Alberta, Canada to Albert E. and Jane Ann (Barwise) Neal.

Mr. Neal is survived by his wife Freda; two daughters, Mrs. John (Alberta) Swetz of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. Marge Sprague of San Diego, Calif.; one son, Albert of Breckenridge; one stepson, Robert E. Hossman of New Martinsville; one brother, Ralph Neal of Mt. Pleasant; six sisters, Mrs. Dave (Gertrude) Palmer, Mrs. Lloyd (Luceille) Landon, Mrs. Herman (Blanche) Buckley, all of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Glenn (Dorothy) Wooten of Lansing, Mrs. Bernard (Mabel) Campbell of Wyoming, and Mrs. Carl (Faye) Kopkau of Lenior, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren; and 28 great- grandchildren.
