Arthur A. Cross passed away on January 29, 2015 in Charlotte, NC. He was born on April 9th, 1935 in Queens, NY, the son of Arthur and Marguerite Carter Cross.

He served his country in the US Army. Following his military service, he worked with Bell South, AT&T and Lucent Technologies. Arthur retired from Lucent after 25 years of service.

Arthur was a loving husband, father, brother and friend to many. He will be deeply missed. He loved Music and had his own jazz group, The Cross Ensemble. He booked engagements and continued to perform through December 2014. His second favorite pastime was Bowling. He would travel the country bowling in different tournaments with his family by his side. He had four rings which are awarded for a perfect 300 game. His other passion was Basketball. For many years he played every Saturday morning with friends. He was also a part of the Tuesday Morning Card Club.

Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Marsha A. Cross of the home; daughter, Arianna M. Cross of Greensboro, NC; sister, Yvonne Mitchell of New York, NY and brother, Alton Merchant of Fairfield, CT.

Services to celebrate his life: Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, Greensboro, NC. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service at Hanes Lineberry.
