Among those who preceded him in death include his wife, Lorene Howell; son, Charles D. Howell; parents and brother, Roscoe Howell.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his sons, Robert "Bob" Howell (Mary Anne) and Michael Eugene Howell (Sue); 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Harry Howell; and sister, Eva Pittman.
