Funeral set Monday for Louis Wilkins

ST. CHARLES -- Funeral services for Louis H. Wilkins, 72, of St. Charles who died Friday (April 2, 1993), will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles. The Rev. Kenneth Rowe will officiate.

Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery at St. Charles. Graveside services by the American Legion.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and until service time at the funeral home.

He was born Sept. 9, 1920, in Winona County. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I and was a 15-year member of the Army Reserves. He married Violet Meyer Nov. 4, 1946, at Decorah, Iowa. Mr. Wilkins worked as a bookkeeper for Frisch and Johnson Garage in St. Charles for 20 years. Later he was city recorder for the city of St. Charles for nine years. He then was with St. Charles Welding, Rochester Buslines and Coca Cola.

He was a member of the Hugh Watson American Legion Post 190 of St. Charles where he was a past commander. He also served as First District Commander of the American Legion. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of St. Charles and the St. Charles Moose Club.

Survivors are his wife; two sons, Jerry of Webster, Wis., and Rick of St. Charles; a daughter, Sandra (Mrs. Bob) Wiskow of St. Charles; six grandchildren and one sister, Alice Wilkins of Plainview.
