Walter Ray Hill of Wilmington, NC, departed this life to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 5, 2004, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was born in Randolph County, NC, January 30, 1938, son of the late Valon Carr Hill and Dellie Mae Russell Hill, and was preceded in death by a sister Hilda Mae Hill. Mr. Hill is survived by his wife, Hilda Grace Hill; three children, Dean Moon of Greensboro, Kaye Moon-Houston of Wilmington and Tony Hill of Wilmington; seven brothers and sisters, Ben Hill, of SC, Ruthie Flynt Luther, Barney Lee Hill, Hoyle Monroe Hill, Johnny Hill, Wilodene Powell, all of New Hope, NC, and Rachel Brinkley of Asheboro, NC. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2004, at Long Leaf Baptist Church by the Rev. Eugene Ridley. Interment service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in Bennett Baptist Church Cemetery, Bennett, NC, by the Rev. Tim Strider. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Andrews Mortuary, Valley Chapel, 4108 South College Road, Wilmington. Andrews Mortuary, Market Street.
