Frederick Neilson, one of the first settlers of Mount Pleasant, died suddenly at his home this morning.
Mr. Neilsen, although almost 94 years of age, had been in excellent health and only yesterday walked more than a mile to a registration place that he might register and be able to vote at the coming election.
He was born in Denmark in 1821. In the early 50s he was married to Miss Margaret Jorgensen and in 1861 they, together with their four oldest children, came to Utah. They lived in Salt Lake two or three years and then came to Mount Pleasant, where Mr. Neilsen soon became one oo the prominent men of the little settlement. He took part in the early wars with the Indians and was one of the number who was granted a pension as a Black Hawk war veteran. His wife died fourteen years ago and only three children survive him - Mrs. George Clemensen and Alfred Neilsen of Mount Pleasant and Mrs. Marie Tippets of Lake Shore.
