Doris B. Heft, 85, of Bethlehem, passed away Friday, January 20, 2012, in St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of the late Lester K. Heft, who died in 1978. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Cula (Keiper) Bond.

Doris was employed at the Bethlehem Steel Co. in the bookkeeping department and mail room before her children were born. She and her husband operated the Lester K. Heft Garage for many years. A life long member of St. Thomas UCC Church, she was a shoe fly pie baker who was well known for her pie crusts. She was an original supporter of Burnside Plantation. Doris was a devoted mother and loving grandmother who always put her family first. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors: daughters, Donna Hoffman of Bethlehem, Tracy Dunay, and her partner John Metcalf of Belvidere, NJ; a son, Brian Heft, and his wife Carolyn of Slatington; and grandchildren, Leslie, Jennifer, Aaron, Bethany, and Joshua. She was predeceased by a sister, Loretta Michael and a brother, Paul Bond.

Services: Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, in St. Thomas UCC, Macada and Altonah Roads, Bethlehem, followed by burial in Hope Cemetery. Family and friends may call 7 - 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden Street, Bethlehem.
