Mrs. Granger Found Dead at City Home
Mrs. Bernice Granger, widow of George W. Granger, who was a Rochester attorney and judge of District court, was found dead at her home, 532 3rd St. SW early this afternoon. She was in her early 60’s.

Mrs. Granger was formerly Bernice Wilder of Spring Valley.

Mrs. Granger Rites Not Yet Planned
Funeral arrangements for Mrs. George W. Granger, who was found dead in her home at 532 3rd St. SW Wednesday, have not been completed.

Mrs. Granger, the former Bernice A. Wilder of Spring Valley was married to former District Court Judge George W. Granger Dec. 26. 1929. He died in March 1939. Arrangements are being handled by the Vine Funeral Home.

Memorial services for Mrs. George W. Granger will be conducted by the Rev. J. W. Mettam at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Vine Funeral Home. The remains will be cremated and sent for burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Santa Monica, Calif.*
Mrs. Granger, 63, was found dead in her home at 532 3rd. St. SW on Oct. 30. Dr. T. O. Wellner, Olmsted County coroner ruled the death was caused by a heart attack, and probably occurred about Oct. 20.

The former Bernice A. Wilder was born Sept. 5, 1894 in Spring Valley. She moved to Rochester in 1916, and was married to Arlo Laging here Sept. 1, 1917. They were divorced in 1923.

She was married to George W. Granger, former Olmsted County District Court judge, Dec. 26, 1929. He died in March 1939.
Mrs. Granger is survived by a half-sister, Mrs. George Pooler of Van Nuys, Calif. Two half brothers and a half-sister preceded her in death.


* Bernice Wilder Granger's cremains were actually interred in a niche in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Glendale, CA - the same cemetery where her mother and half siblings were buried.

Bernice was the only surviving daughter of Royal Wilder, whose life was fictionalized in the well-known "Little House" books by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
