Shirley Blankenship, of Spiro, Oklahoma, was born August 24, 1936 in Lecompte, Louisiana to Louis Edward and Rose Viola (Terrell) Williams and passed away January 30, 2015 in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 78. She is survived by:

One Daughter:
Gina Huff and husband, Clark, of Spiro, Oklahoma

Three Sons:
Eddie Blankenship and wife, Trinka, of Spiro, Oklahoma
Curtis Blankenship and wife, Ruby, of Cowlington, Oklahoma
Jon Blankenship and wife, Honei, of Spiro, Oklahoma

Two Sisters:
Darline McNeil of Tyler,TX
Glenda Monroe and husband Frank of Pineville, LA

17 Grandchildren:
Lee Blankenship and wife Abbey, Linzy Wylie and husband Caleb, Linlee

She was preceded in death by her parents and one Brother, Thomas Louis Williams.

Shirley had a passion for teaching children to read. She taught school for over 26 years while teaching in Florida, Louisiana, and the Spiro School System for 22 years. She was a member of the Spiro Baptist Church and was very active in her Christian Faith. Shirley also loved reading and writing poetry and she loved her Family and Friends dearly.

Funeral Services will be 2:00pm Monday at First Baptist Church in Spiro, Oklahoma with Mr. Clark Huff and Reverend Eddie Blankenship officiating.

Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro. The family will visit with friends 4pm-6pm Sunday at the funeral home.
