George was the son of William and Hannah Wilson Muir. He was a bartender. George married Mary Cora/Catherine Gallap on 8 December 1887 in Sandusky County, and they had 3 children but only Clarence Glen and Elsie survived. The couple divorced by 1900 and Mary was working as an attendant in Toledo State Hospital. On 16 April 1903 in Monroe, Michigan, George married Barbara M. Jacoby. They also divorced. George died from malignant obstructions at the age of 49 years 9 months and 14 days.
