Robert Lee Hooper, Sr., is the husband of my great grand-aunt, Ida Belle King.
He was the third of five children born to James Hooper (about 1840 - ?) and Nancy J. Lain (1842-1871).
Robert married Ida Belle King in 1893 at the age of 25 and had 4 children:
1) James Gurney Hooper (1897-1958);
2) Vergie Ethyl Hooper (1899-1904) (girl)
3) Samuel Ellis Hooper (1901-1970) and
4) Robert Lee Hooper, Jr. (1905-1972).
Robert worked as a postmaster in his later years in Birmingham, Alabama, and died at the age of 75 on November 10, 1943.
I would love to communicate with the descendants of this family.
