Kelly J. Porter, 43, died January 28, 2015at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, MA. After a two and a half year battle with breast cancer, Kelly leaves her soul mate and loving husband Jeffrey A. Porter, her daughter Hayleigh and stepson Devin.
Kelly married Jeffrey A. Porter of Whitman on August 25, 2001. Born on November 16, 1971 to Mary (Weir) Johansen, who died in 1989. She is survived by her father Paul Johansen and her Step-Mom Christine of Clearwater, FL. Kelly is also survived by her brother Kevin Johansen of Weymouth, Eric Johansen of Rockland, David Johansen and Lynn Carew of Taunton, and the daughter-in-law of Mary E. Porter of Whitman, MA. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts & uncles and her many friends throughout the area.
Kelly was a driven professional, employed by Sunburst, EMS a provider of electronic manufacturing services, in West Bridgewater, where she treasured her job and the entire Sunburst team.
When diagnosed with breast cancer on her 41st birthday in 2012, Kelly kept a positive attitude and was determined to fight this atrocious disease with everything she had. She remained dedicated to her family, her profession, and many friends while maneuvering her intense medical treatments till the end.
The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate her life on Monday February 1, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 PM in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St. Rockland. Memorial graveside service and a celebration of Kelly’s life will be held at a later date. “In memory of Kelly J. Porter”, a fund has been established to assist with final expenses.
