Mrs. Bertha Matilda Guthrie, 93 years, widow of William L. Guthrie, died Monday, October 27, 1958, in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anna Allum of Washington. She had been ill since May 24, when she suffered a fractured hip. Mrs. Guthrie was a daughter of John and Mary Tayor and was born in Whiteley Townshp, April 24, 1865. On June 11, 1887, she was united in marriage with William Lazear Guthrie whose death occurred April 24, 1946. Mrs. Guthrie was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church. Surviving are four sons and two daughters: J. Hagan Guthrie of Washington; J. Cephas Guthrie of Senora, Ky.; Hallie A. Guthrie of Detroit, Mich.; William L. Guthrie of Galion R. D. 1, Ohio; Helen, wife of Frank E. Green of Smithport R. D. 3; Anna, wife of Glenn E. Allum of Washington; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a step-daughter, Mrs. Emma Philllips; three step-grandchildren, and one foster son, Vernon, in the West.
