Cynthia Margaret Stevenson, 65, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at her home in College Station. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, January 29, at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, January 30, at Grace Bible Church Southwood Campus, College Station, with Pastor Jason Wiesepape officiating. Interment will be at 10 a.m., Saturday in Zion Hill Cemetery, just north of Weatherford, Texas.

Cynthia was born in Fort Worth, Texas, to Clifford Alfred Franklin and Pencie Maureen Henson Franklin. She grew up and attended school in Weatherford. Cynthia earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education from West Texas State in Canyon, Texas. She moved to Mexia, Texas, where she taught high school for 10 years, then moved to Waco and taught at University High School for five years before retiring.

Cynthia then moved to College Station in 2005 and began her career at being a full-time grandmother. She loved to read and especially loved to watch Madie play volleyball at A&M Consolidated High School. Cynthia loved spending time with her grandchildren and doing arts and crafts with Avery. She was a member of the Grace Bible Church Southwood Campus in College Station.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Pencie Maureen Henson Franklin.

Survivors include her daughter, Amy Welch, of College Station; son, Mike Stevenson and wife, Tammy, of College Station; grandchildren: Morgan Strickland, Madison Welch, Avery Stevenson and Abbey Stevenson; a great-grandson, Dylan Ray, all of College Station; father and step-mother, Alfred and Peggy Franklin, of Weatherford; brother, Clifford Franklin and wife, Edith, of Lubbock; and numerous other family and friends.
