J. Floyd Hessemyer, 90, of St. Joseph, Mo., passed away on Sunday, Feb. 17, 1996, at a St. Joseph hospital after a short illness.
Mr. Hessemyer had been employed with Mead Products for 42 years. He was also co-owner of the Hessemyer Drapery Shop.
Born August 5, 1905, in Easton, Mo., he had lived for most of his life in St. Joseph.
Mr. Hessemyer was a member of Wyatt Park Baptist Church; the Masonic Lodge, Stewartsville, Mo.; 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason; Moila Temple Shrine; and Mead Forty Year Club.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Maxine Strahan and Faye Moore; and a brother, Don Hessemyer.
On December 25, 1925, he married the former Verrill L. Kimball. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors; two daughters, Joanna R. Bonham, Branson, Mo., and Janeth K. Anderson, St. Joseph; four sisters, Eva Paulhus, Wanda Gawatz and Lila Gregory, all of St. Joseph, and Edna Fiddler, Gladstone, Mo.; four brothers, Jewell, Hilen and Howard, all of St. Joseph, and Lester, Bethany, Mo.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 1996, at Meirhoffer-Fleeman Funeral Home, St. Joseph, Mo.
Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, Mo.
