Born Augusta Victoria Anderdotter in Åsle, Skaraborg County, Sweden (Skaraborg County was merged into what is now called Vastra Gotalands County).

Daughter of Anders Johansson (b. 23 Aug 1832 in Åsle, Skaraborg County, Sweden; d. 24 Feb 1886 in Åsle, Skaraborg County, Sweden) and Clara Johansdotter (b. 3 Sept 1836 in Acklinga, Skaraborg County, Sweden; d. 9 Oct 1913 in Tidaholm, Skaraborg County, Sweden). After Anders died in 1886, Clara then married (2) Johannes Jansson on 26 Dec 1890 in Asle, Skaraborg County, Sweden. -see bottom of bio section-

Augusta went by her middle name "Victoria" after coming to the United States.

Augusta had four brothers (Johan, Adam, Carl & Janne... twins) and two sisters (Maria, Hilma).

Married Gustaf Albert Berg on 7 April 1892 in Agnetorp parish, Skaraborg County, Sweden.

Augusta immigrated to America with her three children. Her husband, Gustaf, had come to America prior presumably to find employment and a place to live in Chicago, IL. Augusta and children (Albert A., Judith V., Gustaf A.) arrived at the Port of New York (Ellis Island) on 4 February 1903 on the S.S. Saxonia which had departed from Liverpool, England.

Augusta was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Chicago, Illinois until 4 Dec 1913.

Her husband, Gustaf, was killed by a falling piano on 12 Aug 1915 in Chicago, Illinois.

At the time of the 1920 Census, she was a washwoman for a private family.

On 18 Novemeber 1921, Augusta filed a Declaration of Intention to become a U.S. Citizen. On her application, she listed Åsle, Sweden as her place of birth.

She is listed as "Victoria Berg" on her death certificate.

Gustaf and Augusta had four sons (Albert Alarik "Alex", Gustaf Adolf, Evald Thurene, Charles Edward) and five daughters (Judith Victoria, Maria Juliana, Mildred Axelina, Naemi Clara "Mamie", Isabel Ellen).

According to the 1910 U.S. Census, Gustaf and Augusta Victoria Berg had 7 children, 4 were living. Their children: Maria, Naemi, and Evald had died. Two more children were born after the 1910 Census: Isabel and Charles. Gustaf and Augusta Victoria had a total of 9 children. Gustaf's soldier document transcript lists 8 of the 9 children with the exception of daughter Maria who died at abt two years old in Sweden. Gustaf and Augusta Victoria's daughter, Isabel, also spoke of how she was one of nine children and how three of her siblings died at very young age.

Augusta died from a cerebral hemorrhage on 30 Aug 1925 in Bremen Township, Cook County, Illinois. Charles (Augusta's youngest son) went to live with his older sister, Mildred, and her husband (Theodore Johnson). Isabel (Augusta's youngest daughter), went to live with her older sister, Judith, and her husband (Clifford Gramer).
